If you are starting to feel more comfortable, it might be time to try TEPPEN’s primary content: Ranked Matches.
Ranked Matches are heated card battles against players from around the world.
We’d like to take some time to talk more in-depth about them.

Summary

  • A Ranked Match season lasts approximately one month.
  • There are six lettered ranks (F to A) and a seventh Champion Rank. Each lettered rank has five classes (5-1).

1. Ranked Match

A Ranked Match season lasts approximately one month and is one way of battling players from around the world.
Play against similarly ranked players and pile up victories to work your way up the ranks.
The objective of Ranked Matches is to rise to as high of a rank as possible during the season.
Each Ranked Match has its own missions for which you’ll receive rewards upon completion.
Once a Ranked Match season ends, you’ll receive rewards based on the highest rank you achieved over the course of that season.

 

2. Participating in Ranked Matches

You can go into a Ranked Match by going to Battle on the Home Screen and then proceeding to the Ranked Match option located on the upper part of the screen.
The amount of time left in the season is displayed on the Ranked Match button.
Participating in a single Ranked Match during the season qualifies you as a participant for that season.

You can press the Ranking button at the top of the Home Screen to see the current season’s Ranked Match rankings and the prior season’s ranking results.

*The top 100 players who have achieved Champion Rank will be displayed.
*Champion Rank will be described in greater detail later.

You can press the RULES button on the Ranked Match’s Select Deck to Use screen to see the card sets you can use during the current season’s Ranked Matches.

Pressing the REWARD button will allow you to view rewards that can be earned at the end of a Ranked Match season.

There are two categories for Ranked Match rewards: Highest Ranking and Champion. Each can be viewed by pressing each respective button.

Rewards that can be obtained for reaching each rank are displayed in Highest Ranking.
Rewards that can be obtained for achieving rank 1 through 100 are displayed in Champion.

Pressing the ▼ button will allow you to view reward details for each letter rank and ranking place.

 

3. Ranks

Results

There are six lettered ranks (F to A) and a seventh Champion Rank.
Each rank between F and A also has five classes.

With each victory, you earn one star, and with each defeat, you lose one star.
A set number of stars are required to get promoted to the next class for each rank.

You can earn a promotion to the next rank by earning the needed amount of stars while at Class 1.
Ex) C1 – 5 Stars → B5 – 1 Star RANK UP!

Class Demotion Conditions If you are defeated with zero stars, you will be demoted one class.
Rank Promotion Conditions Acquire a 6th star at A1 to be promoted to the Champion Rank.
Rank Demotion Conditions If you are at the A5 at the end of the season you will begin the next season at the B5.
Other It is possible to be demoted at this rank. Being defeated in battle will result in the loss of 1 star, and you will be demoted 1 class if you are defeated while you have 0 stars. However, if you are at A5 and are defeated with zero stars, you will not be demoted to Rank B.

Rank F

Class Demotion Conditions You will not be demoted at this class.
Rank Promotion Conditions Acquire a 3rd star at F1 to be promoted to E5.
Rank Demotion Conditions No rank demotion.
Other Players who participate in Ranked Matches for the first time will start at Rank F – Class 5 with zero stars. No loss of stars or class demotion.

 

Champion Rank

At the Champion Rank, you play for points that determine your placing.
You will begin with 1600 pts.
With each victory, you’ll earn points, and with each defeat, you’ll lose points.
The number of points gained or lost at the Champion Rank are based on the difference between you and your opponent’s points.
You cannot be demoted from Champion Rank midseason, so challenge opponents without the fear of being demoted!

Just be aware that if you fail to participate in a single match in any season after reaching the Champion Rank, you will be demoted from that ranking.

 

4. Special Rules

Ranked Matches feature several special rules.

Chain Bonus

These rules apply to Rank F, Rank E, Rank D, Rank C, and Rank B.
If you win three Ranked Matches in a row, you will earn an extra star as a reward for victories after that.
The more times you win in a row, the faster you’ll be promoted.

GIANT KILLER CHALLENGE

GIANT KILLER CHALLENGE will display if a Rank A were to go up against a Champion Rank.
If that happens, upon winning you’ll receive the GIANT KILLER BONUS!! and receive 2 stars.
Even if the Rank A side loses, the star will not be lost.
*The Consecutive Wins will be reset.

You will be fighting strong opponents, but this will also be a chance to earn stars at once. You should proceed with the battles carefully!

 

5. Ranked Match Season Changes

When a new Ranked Match season begins, your starting rank for that season will be determined by the rank and class you achieved during the previous season.
If you were between Classes 4 – 1 at the end of the previous season, you will begin at Class 5 of the same rank the following season.
However, if you were Class 5, you will begin at Class 5 of the next lower rank.
If you were in the Champion Rank at the end of the previous season, you will begin at Class A5.
For F5 – D5, you will begin from your previous rank and class.

 

Conclusion

Your rank will not be demoted during a Ranked Match season, so go ahead and fight with as many opponents as you can!

If you get promoted to a higher rank, do everything you can to get to Class 4 or higher!
Even if you’re at Class 5 when the season ends, you’ll at least get the rewards for your final rank, so just do your best next time.
